Sooooooo, boy have I been slackin. I have been very busy and tired and I have not been able to blog lately but I'm here now. Let's just start from what I remember why don't we. Unfortunately, I have terrible memory and I can only vaguely remember events farther than 48 hours ago. So Thursday, we went to go see the movie Dope. I've seen it before with my gal pal Randi but it's currently my favorite movie so I certainly didn't mind watching it again. It's about this high school senior and his 2 friends who live in Inglewood and are obsessed with 90's culture. They have a band and somehow get invited to a drug dealers birthday party. At the party he somehow gets framed with the drugs so he has to get rid of it to avoid all applicable consequences. You should really just watch it because my synopsis will never do it justice. It's extremely funny too. My favorite rapper-person-celebrity-crush stars as Dom in the film as well. Dom is played by the one and only A$AP Rocky. For some reason, right upon departure I got sick so the walk there was pretty agonizing but I started to feel better towards the middle of the film. The theater we went to was super small. Like literally the size of a small Family Dollar or McDonalds. (Everything in Ithaca is small). Then on the way back my nose started bleeding out of nowhere. It was by far the worst I've ever had. It was running so fast it was like one of those punch coolers that you can turn on and off to get a drink. Just straight blood. I went through everybodies random purse napkins and candy wrappers and even someones white handkerchief. About 200 yards from the house I had the grand idea of using a pad (sanitary napkin) to catch the blood (I mean that's what they're made for right). But no one had one. I did have one but trying to get it out would have been more hassle than rushing home I suppose. It clotted several times but that seemed not to have any significant effect on the flow. I'm good now though.
Friday, we went to play kickball on Cornell's football field. It was raining for quite a while but it wasn't debilitating or anything. I scored once and pitched 2 innings. It was extremely fun and my team won 9-7. On Saturday we had on Open Mic Night. We had several monologues, some spoken word acts, comedians, musical theater act a piano piece and rap battle. I recited 2 of my own pieces. It was extremely nice and I had fun. Today we had our House Meeting which is all part of self-governance. We passed quite a few BIRTs and my TASS/TASP committee will be hosting a Palooza next week. At the end of the meeting it was announced that we are going to New York City next week. The primary focus will be the Museum of Modern Art but we will also be seeing Central Park and possibly Time Square. I am sooooooo geeked it's about to be lit. Remember you can always send me something lol.
