Sooooooo, yesterday we went to New York City. It was craazzzyyyyyy. We went to Times Square first and it was overwhelming busy. There was people of all shape, size, race, age, religion- like whatever there is to be diverse in- New York has it. We went to the MoMA to study the Jacob Lawrence Migration Series. They gave us his novelty collectors book for free and I purchased a white MoMa button. I also took the time to stop by the Basquiat painting on display. We went to dang Whole Foods for dinner. I don't know what the heck that was about but it was very interesting. I didn't know that that many people wanted to buy over-priced moderately organic goods. I got chicken, collard greens and mac & cheese and a case of brownies for dessert. I don't know why I expected it to taste like ma's but I learned that lesson once again. My professor bought me a Snapple off the street because she's just nice like that. Speaking of drinks, when we were waiting to cross the street some guy tried to push past us and ended up knocking over the whole beverage display on a nearby food cart. I picked up a salvaged lemonade to help him but he just made this face and said "keep it".....so I did. After that we went to Central Park which was huge and full of life. We sat on the rocks and ate and took pictures. As we were eating we saw something was being filmed on the sidewalk and we were in the background of it. Turns out its for some new game show called Broke Ass Game Show. The director reallly made me mad though because he came over and offered us to really be in it if we were 18 years old and he admitted later that he KNEW we weren't 18 he just wanted to mess with us. -___- really?
really dude? how childish can you be? But anyhow, we left around 6 and partied all the way back. I was the DJ and we listened to old school from Lenny Williams Cuz I Love You to Al Green Let's Stay Together to Blackstreet and SWV. I had fun.
Then yesterday night my TASS/TASP committee threw a party at our house. It was sooooooo fun. We bought a disco light, candy, chips and I made a special playlist. I hope we can do that again.
Today we had our service project. We went to Ithaca Community Garden and weeded, composted, cut brush and picked produce. They fed us sandwiches, muffins and cookies which was nice.
So its been a fun weekend. Cool beanz
