The True Meaning of Christmas {For Kids}

When us kids think of Christmas our minds start to process pictures, the wrong pictures to be exact. We think about the new Hot Wheels, Barbie, or Monopoly. But my friends, you got it all wrong. I know it's a tradition to receive gifts, but why can't we make it a tradition to volunteer at the soup kitchen, that's what I did today. Christmas is about giving not getting. For the younger children I'll put it this way, instead of getting a new toy why don't you give one. For every gift you get you can give a toy to a charity or organization. You don't have to volunteer at the soup kitchen, you can help and elderly neighbor, or do extra chores and put allowance on hold for a while. For my older kids stop playing on the Xbox, get off Facebook, and most of all stop texting. Why don't you go out and do some community service. Yeah maybe it does sound boring but make it fun. Get together with some friends and bake cookies for the patients in the hospital. Let your imagination run wild, there is no end to what you can do. When my parents told me we were going to volunteer at the soup kitchen I didn't think it would be to much fun. But it was a blast! I was a waitress, I put food out, escorted boys and girls around to pick out toys, and cut literally the hardest bread in America. And trust me it feels really good to know that instead of just being able to play with your new toy or model in your new clothes, you made someones Christmas a Christmas to remember. That is the true meaning of Christmas.

Spiritual Depending Pole

When I fall You fall
When You fall I fall
We all fall when the pole that connects us all falls
It is tall the 10 foot pole that connects us
All small stand on the tall to catch the tall pole
Together we all are tall though we are spiritually small
We catch the tall pole because when I fall You fall
And when You fall I fall
