Family Trip Down South

Family Trip Down South
When we left our house for the family trip we drove quiet some way until we arrived at our first stop, Fort Wayne. In Fort Wayne we went to McDonalds. It is like tradition in our family to use the bathroom before we eat. We went to the restroom and there was no soap. We waited at least twenty minutes for the man to put soap in the container. While waiting people claimed to have either a cleaning device in their car or to have rinsed their hands with hot water. My mother had noticed the that guy who refilled the soap container had gotten the soap out the back. So now the cooks weren’t washing their hands so we left. My dad decided to go to KFC instead. Because of the temperature outside we ate in the car. When we finished eating we cleaned the car got gas and got back on the road.

Our next stop was in Indianapolis. Myana is a friend I know through my mothers old boss, we call her Tia Bonita. Tia Bonita took Myana and I to camp together, and we became friends.
At Myana’s house we threw water balloons. The water balloons were really easy to bust so we had to be careful. After the balloon fight we had an egg-toss. The partners were Myana and I, Max and Mr. Strickland, and Alanah and Olivia. What was really cool was that Myana and I won. We did two rounds just to clarify that we were the winners. Next we got sprayed by Mr. Strickland. We even made a battle plan against him. It didn’t work as planed but we stopped anyway because people started arguing. When I got inside I played war with Max using his Nerf gun and Max used his sword as a weapon. Now I want two Nerf guns for either Christmas or my birthday. We had fun, but pretty soon we got back on the road.

Our next stop was in Jeffersonville. When we got there we were really sleepy and tired. So we found a hotel room at Town Place Inn and suites. While my mom and sisters found the room I helped my dad bring in the luggage. We really enjoyed the hotel room, It included a kitchen, two bedrooms, and a flat screen television in the living room. When we left the next morning we all received free orange bracelets. Once again it was time to get on the road. My mom left here most favorite black jacket at the hotel. By the time she noticed that she had left it we were in Tennessee!

Our next stop was in Nashville, Tennessee. Since it was daytime when we got there it did not make sense to get hotel room. So we just sight saw for the time being. We looked at all the universities such as Belmont University, Vanderbilt University, Fisk University , and Tennessee State. After all that sight seeing we had worked up an appetite. So we went to McDonalds to eat dinner. The funniest thing was that we saw a sofa at the bus stop! Not a bench, not a chair a sofa. My dad went back so we could take a picture. The prettiest thing was the skyline it was beautiful. I got some really good shots so I might blow them up to make posters and postcards. It was getting dark and we were getting tired again so we continued our drive.

Our following stop was in Birmingham, Alabama. This time instead of renting a hotel room we slept over my cousin Tiffany’s house. Tiffany is a High School science teacher. Tiffany is a really nice person. She also owns a dog. When we woke up the next morning my father cooked biscuits, sausage and eggs. Instead of leaving right away we stayed there a while. Troy slept, Mom got on Facebook, Dad got on the computer, Alanah and Olivia watched T.V, and I worked on this very story. Around 4:30 we left Tiffany’s house to go to Uncle Goldsmiths house in Montevallo.

When we got to Montevallo we settled in uncle Goldsmiths house ,watched some T.V., took a bath and went to bed. In the morning we washed up and ate some toast, sausage, grits and eggs. We got dressed and went to the Galleria Mall! It was so awesome we bought cookies and shoes. Because the food court prices were to high we went to McDonalds. As we were riding back to uncle Goldsmiths house we saw it. The worlds greatest doughnut shop, Krispy Kreams! We just had to get some doughnuts. They were hot and creamy! I’m getting hungry just writing about it. Once we had our doughnuts Alanah and Olivia watched T.V. Mom, Dad, and Uncle Goldsmith talked, Troy slept and I worked on my blog. When we got hungry my mom barbequed some hot dogs and made French fries for dinner. We washed up and went to bed . The following morning we had cereal and packed up. After we had packed we went outside to play bubbles for a while. We also got to sit on the small white swing. It was around 5:30 and we had to get to Hattiesburg, Mississippi. We got on the road again, for we had a long way to go.

Our last and final destination was in Hattiesburg Mississippi. When we got to Hattiesburg we got a hotel room. Next was the highlight of the trip. My dad met his brother for the first time! Isn’t that exiting? I also found out I have a cousin named Camryn! That’s freaky right? Well after we got to meet him we went to his family reunion .I met a boy named Caleb. Caleb is my cousin. They had fried fish and everything there. Everything was great until a girl got stung by a wasp. The sting wasn’t to bad though. At the end we left. We slept at Sleep Inn Hotel and the room was great and there was always enough towels. I highly recommend Sleep Inn for your next trip. The next day we ate oatmeal and got ready for part two of the family reunion. Part two was swimming! We swam in a lake and played Marco Polo. When we were done getting wet we went to the pavilion to eat. We had ribs, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw and cake. I learned how to play checkers, I rocked at Uno and played scoops. I had a great time meeting my Uncle Bryant. After we gave uncle Bryant our gifts we went back to hotel and went to bed. The last morning in Hattiesburg we went to church. Service was nice and I even learned a few songs. When service was over we took pictures and Uncle Bryant showed us back to the highway so we could go home.

Well on the way back my mom had to take wheel because Dad got tired. What was really cool was that we saw a thunder storm that was in Nashville while we were in Alabama. The rain was so heavy that we had to get a hotel room for the night. The next day when we got back on the road when everything cleared up. We drove and drove and then mom turned up the music. Next she sang really loud. Then she started dancing and everything. I was scared that if she didn’t calm down we would crash! Somewhere along the way, Troy learned what a water tower is so whenever she sees one she says “WATERTOWA”! It’s really cute. After hours more of driving we were home! We were sooooo happy! All in all we had a great trip and I can’t wait to do it again!
